Suitably qualified applicants are invited to apply for admission to the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) Pre-Degree and Degree Foundation (JUPEB) programmes for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The Afe Babalola International Study Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State, runs the ABUAD Pre-degree curriculum (9 months – Admission into 100 Level) and the ABUAD Degree Foundation programme (18 months – Direct Entry into 200 Level).
Programmes at the Afe Babalola International Study Centre
1. Pre-University Programs:
Students who want to continue their education at Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti can take advantage of the Pre-degree Programme (ABUAD). They are thoroughly prepared for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination through the curriculum (UTME). The pre-degree program exempts our students from the Afe Babalola University POST-UTME. It has functioned as a bridge for students who have been waiting for university entrance for a long time. Since its start, the transition rate to the university has ranged between 95 and 98 percent. Candidates who took the ABUAD post-utme but were not admitted benefit from AUTOMATIC ADMISSION from the University. The duration is nine months.
2. Foundation Degree Programme:
The Degree Foundation Programme is primarily intended for students who have met the minimal university admission criterion of five O’Level credit passes in a single sitting or six O’Level credit passes in two sittings, including English Language, mathematics, and other related disciplines.
Except for Law at Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) and other Nigerian universities, this program admits students directly to the 200-level through The Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) or The Cambridge Advanced Level. The Cambridge Advanced Level programme improves the chances of international entrance to the 200-level. This program annually, with a success rate of over 95 percent, opens the door to Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) and other universities in Nigeria. The term is 12 months.

]]>The University, however, clarified that what the Commission granted it was not accreditation but approval, explaining that what NUC grants any University, in the first instance, based on verification of the standard requirements, facilities as well as human and material resources, is approval.
In a Press Release issued by the University’s Head, Public Relations, Mr Ayo Arowojolu, the Institution explained further that accreditation only comes after an initial period of two or three years.
According to him, the clarification becomes necessary following various newspaper publications which, though used the word “approval” in the body of the news stories but erroneously used the word “accreditation” in the headlines.
In a letter addressed to the University dated Monday March 14, 2022 and signed by Dr N. B. Saliu, for the NUC Executive Secretary, the Commission stated: “the Vice-Chancellor is pleased invited to recall that a resource verification visit was carried out by panel of experts to a proposed academic programme in Chrisland University, Owode with a view to assessing the human and material resources available for its establishment.
“I am directed to inform the Vice-Chancellor that the Executive Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of the full-time mode of the underlisted undergraduate programme(Law (LL., to be run in the main campus of the University with effect from the 2021/22 academic session”
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola, the release added, expressed appreciation to the NUC for its painstaking efforts being put into quality assurance and control in Nigeria’s universities.
